In the latest Eastern North Carolina Home Sales Index, pending sales, a key indicator of sales that will take place over the next 30-45 days, rose significantly for the fourth consecutive month following two months of sharply falling pending sales.  The number of pending sales at the beginning of May was 2,408 as compared to the beginning of April, which was at 2,024.  This represents an 19% increase over the previous month.  This marks the fourth consecutive month with an increase in pending sales of at least 18% since pending sales fell to 1,189 in January.
