Shack's Corner

In the latest Eastern North Carolina Home Sales Index, pending sales, a key indicator of sales that will take place over the next 30-45 days, fell 9.9% over the previous month. The number of pending sales at the beginning of December was 1,372 compared to the beginning of November, which was at 1,523.

9 of the 11 markets in the ENCHSI saw fewer pending sales this month. Craven County was the only county which saw increased pending sales this month, while Lenoir County remained unchanged. The largest decrease was 16.7% in Carteret County, while the largest increase was 4.2% in Craven County.

The Eastern North Carolina Home Sales Index includes the following counties: Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Lenoir, Nash, the Northeastern Counties, (Camden, Chowan, Pasquotank, and Perquimans) Onslow, the Outer Banks, (Dare and Currituck) Pitt, Wayne, and Wilson.
