We analyze 13 different markets throughout eastern North Carolina.  Here are a couple of interesting charts comparing the different markets:

Inventories appear to be highest in markets with water influence.  Two of the three lowest inventory levels are in military counties, Onslow and Wayne.

It's no surprise that Wake has the highest sales volume.  In fact, Wake's sales volume is so much higher than any other county among the counties we research, I had to cut off the chart well below their sales level to avoid the remaining counties barely even registering on the chart.  The county with the second highest sales volume in August 2009 was Onslow County with a sales volume of 287 homes, while Wake County had 1,125 sales.  I found it somewhat surprising that Onslow County registered more sales in August than Camden, Chowan, Beaufort, Lenoir, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Nash, Wilson, Currituck, and Dare Counties combined!
